The Saltworks are the stories of real faith from real people in the real world. Saltworks by definition is a place where salt is refined as well as a job often viewed as drudgery. But it’s in the unseen places where people just like you are refined walking faithfully in their everyday lives, because God works in the saltworks. The Bible is full of these people, and they live right next door to you. They are the salt of the earth. These are their stories, and this is your story.  4d3r6y

Episodio en The Saltworks
Send us a text It is the Season 3 Finale!!! It’s been such a sweet and wild season–I can’t believe today is the end! Of course we had to have a Topic Tuesday with your very favorite cohost Lindsay Stagg. Today we are talking all about things we’ve learned, what we are learning, and what we’d like to learn. We talk about taking thoughts captive and setting new rhythms. We talk about how our thoughts can affect our actions while our actions can also influence our thoughts. We dive into the heart of people-pleasing, valuable lessons we’ve learned in battling that, and how to sit before the Lord and just ask Him to search our hearts. We had so much fun just relaxing into these topics and getting real in this conversation– I hope you are encouraged and enjoy it as much as we did. Thank you so much for ing us in Season 3, and don’t worry, we’ll be back in a few months with another exciting season!  If you want to read Habits of the Household, click the link here! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Thank you to our partners for this week’s episode, Daily Press and Northeast Imaging! Not My Will But Yours Be Done with Elizabeth Coker
Episodio en The Saltworks
Send us a text We have a sweet show for you today! Elizabeth Coker is our guest this week, and she is someone who just so clearly showcases the laying down of self to follow His will in her story. As a young girl, Elizabeth talks about her desire for control and the safety it brought her. She shares the way God slowly pried her fingers from the reins and what it looked like to put her trust in Him. Throughout her story, you will hear her share about her love for people, her heart for children, her comion for others’ hardships, and her natural giftedness in istration. In it all, I love the tapestry that God has woven in Elizabeth’s story to bring all these together– even what she viewed as weakness– to glorify Him. Elizabeth is a wife, a mom, a pastor’s wife, and the Program Coordinator and Mentor at Broaden Horizons. He’s a Good, Good Father with Phyllis Thomas
He’s a Good, Good Father with Phyllis Thomas
Episodio en The Saltworks
Send us a text I know these words sound overused, but hear me when I say they are exactly what I mean: you will not want to miss this episode. Phyllis Thomas is our guest today, and Emily Jones has sung her praises for months now, and man, was she right. Phyllis is someone who intentionally walks in the way of the upright, lives with deep convictions that match the patterns of her life, and seeks to build the kingdom of Heaven in everything she does. Listening, you will hear this in her story in every step along the way. She brings wisdom and freedom into so many topics as we walk through her story. Because of her radical and beautiful faith, Phyllis’s life has had many twists and been marked by many surprising turns, but none so surprising as finding out that her father was Phil Robertson. Full transparency, I did cry in almost half of the episode, but mostly because we serve a good, good Father, and that is unquestionably evident in the life of Phyllis Thomas.  To follow along with Phyllis’s story and see what comes next, follow her on instagram at https://www.instagram.com/phyllisduckdaughter/?hl=en. Repentance, Repair, & Rest with Emily Jones
Repentance, Repair, & Rest with Emily Jones
Episodio en The Saltworks
Send us a text It’s the fourth and final week of March Motherhood Madness, where we have discussed topics from the book with a different host each week. To close out the month, we have Dr. Emily Jones on the podcast! Today, Emily and I talk about the repentance and repair that happens when we fail. We also distinguish between what is failing and what’s simply being human– something mom guilt often doesn’t make allowance for. And lastly, we talk about rest and why it’s important and what’s true about when we rest. As always, Emily’s insight and wisdom on the topics just bring so much hope and light to places we often carry guilt and defeat. So I pray that as you listen today, mom guilt melts away and you feel encouraged and empowered in areas we need to repair and repent– and that you have the peace to rest in areas we just need to let ourselves be human.  —-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thank you to our partners for this week’s episode, Daily Press and Northeast Imaging!  Whether you’re running to a ball game, practice, or recitals, let Daily Press help you save time and provide the snacks, meals, drinks, and gas you need for the day.  If you or a family member need an X-ray, MRI, CT, or ultrasound, make sure to tell your healthcare provider today that you want to go to Northeast Imaging, and let them take care of you.

Playing House with Lindsay Stagg
Episodio en The Saltworks
Send us a text It’s week three of March Motherhood Madness! Last week we talked all about grace, comion, and mom guilt. This week, your favorite co-host, Lindsay Stagg, is actually hosting, and I was very surprised with the topics and chapters she picked. Today, we are diving into the questions: can moms have fun? Can moms have rest? And most importantly, why is it that we struggle with these topics so deeply? Yall, Lindsay and I had such a sweet and fun conversation, and truthfully, I think we surprised ourselves with the direction it took. Things went deep! We talk about when to assess if it’s really survival mode, moments to allow ourselves to dream, and what is ultimately at the heart of our struggle with having dreams and interests as moms. I’m seriously so excited to share this conversation with you– we hope you enjoy it as much as we did. —---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thank you so much to our sponsors for this week’s episode, Northeast Imaging and Daily Press! Surrender Takes Great Faith (Abide in the Word Conference 2025)
Surrender Takes Great Faith (Abide in the Word Conference 2025)
Episodio en The Saltworks
Send us a text We’re doing something BRAND NEW today! While I usually wear the hat of ‘host’ here on the Saltworks, I also occasionally get the honor to speak at women’s events. Today, for the first time, I get to share with you a recording from the Abide in the Word Conference 2025. When we are in Christ, our salvation is firmly secured in Him. However, Jesus didn’t just come to bring eternal life but to also bring abundant life. What often keeps us from truly experiencing this is our lack of deep and personal surrender. It can become so normalized, even inside the Church sometimes, to live a segmented faith. As we ponder what this might look like in our own lives, today we’ll dive into the found in Matthew 15 of the Canaanite woman. As we take this age that at first glance seems strange and, frankly, kind of hard to understand, we’ll look into Jesus’s heart for this woman– and His heart for you. Because the truth is that with deep surrender comes a deep freedom when strivings cease and we begin to trust Him in every part of our lives.  —------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Thank you to our partners for this week’s episode Evans Oil with the Chevron Rewards App and Northeast Imaging! Forgiveness: Do We Have to? With Lindsay Stagg
Forgiveness: Do We Have to? With Lindsay Stagg
Episodio en The Saltworks
Send us a text It’s been a minute since we have had a topic Tuesday with your favorite co-host! Lindsay Stagg is back on the podcast today and we are diving into a topic that we tend to want to avoid: forgiveness. It’s a convicting topic as we all have things all the time we are working through forgiving. Whether it’s on a small scale with those we love most, a betrayal, or forgiving what feels unforgivable, this topic is for all of us. Sometimes we avoid this topic because actually forgiving someone can feel elusive and outside of our control. Honestly, a lot of it is. That’s why we need the Lord. Today, we talk about what it is, what it is not, the difference between forgiveness and reconciliation, and why it’s important even if the relationship isn’t reconcilable. I am praying that you listen and are encouraged. Lindsay brings so much truth and also comion into this conversation that I really feel will be a balm to your heart.  If you loved the conversation and wanted to look into the resources Lindsay mentioned, check them out below!  Listen to the Tim Keller sermon here: https://gospelinlife.com/sermon/forgiveness-and-reconciliation/ Order Lysa TerKeurst’s Forgiving What You Can’t Forget here. —---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thank you so much to our sponsors for this episode: Daily Press and Northeast Imaging!  As you get back into your routine and begin new habits, stop by Daily Press for a hot pressed sandwich, a hot cup of coffee, or try one of their delicious soups of the day.  Don’t hesitate to tell your healthcare provider you want to go to Northeast Imaging for any MRI, X-ray, CT, or ultrasound you may need.
