Whitney’s back, y’all! In this aptly titled episode, WWT returns to the spotlight, hand in the air, with renewed determination following her pre-diabetes diagnosis. She visits her doctor to assess the impact of her recent lifestyle changes - BGDC and… that’s it… on her health. Spoiler alert: she’s not any farther from the diabetes diagnosis! Whitney challenges herself by attempting to ride a bicycle - a custom-made, wide-wheeled bicycle - for the first time in years! Though, unlike with dancing, we don’t get a number for how many years it’s been! This episode sets the tone for the season, and begs the questions: will Whitney be determined enough to outwit (outWHIT) diabetes? Can you really be fat and fit at the same time? Will Whitney and Buddy ever recross the “fleshhold?” And can you fight diabetes if you don’t live with your parents? 

Finally, we've reached the end of the recaps and are coming to the true "meat" of Season 2. We're unpacking that but also talking about some of the never-before-seen clips that Whit shared on her recap show, like what was going on with "Wigney" and Tal's first adventure in "smushing."

Well, finally, we're at the TRUE end of Season 1 and what a wild season it's been! Obviously, the heroine (and America's Mom) of MBFFL is Babs Thore, the queen of red nails and red lips! But will some fresh lipstick and a shot at Whitney's Big Girl Dance Class be enough to bring Babs out of a three-week-long funk from getting into a scary car accident? Or will Babs be clutching her pillow and lurking at the screen door for good? Hopefully Whit won't worsen Babs' condition by throwing any more heavy objects directly at her face! 

Well, well, well. We're finally on the last episode of season 1. How did we get here, y'all? In celebration, we're treating you to a FULL version of the Whitney Way Thore Fabulous Life Anthem to start off the episode - it's become our favorite song and we hope you all feel the same! This episode has Babs front and center - she's fresh off a very scary car accident involving a black-out and skid down a hill (embankment). Babs is unharmed, but mentally shaken. What will it take to bring her back to her BABulous self? We'll give you a hint: it comes in many shades, and it's one of the two things Babs is known for! 

This week’s episode may be called “the skinny” but don’t worry, it’ll be a long time before Whitney discovers the fountain of youth and weight loss stemming from Novo Nordisk. This episode is framed as a season-closing tell-all where Whitney sits down for an interview with one of her producers. While Whit may have been this episode’s intended focus, we couldn’t keep our eyes off the producer, who has been involved in other freak shows like “Dr. Pimple Popper” and “Thousand Pound Sisters.” Our question to him is whether he ever saw Whitney Way Thore’s success coming, and how quickly she asked for his digits after the interview wrapped. 

Hard to believe we're already on episode 9! Even harder to believe is the fact that Whit talks so much about leaving the nest but never does. We've got a jam packed episode for you this week - Whit gets an EXTREMELY serious diagnosis of pre-diabetes, for one. Unsurprisingly, Babs and Glenn act like it's the end of the world. Whit goes on house tours with Buddy in hopes that they'll start living together - but don’t worry, that won’t be awkward at all! Finally, Whitney choreographs some Zumba for a breast cancer benefit. Will she crack under pressure (and back/butt pain) or will she "rock her curves the best" and pad her portfolio? 

You’ve heard of double-blind experimentation but have you ever heard of a double blind date? This week, Whitney is roping Ashley into a blind date, double date, and online date, all rolled into one. But if you thought anything about this was going to be normal, think again! Whitney has once again pulled Ashley into a world of trouble… And she’s done it by impersonating her online! But there’s only one small problem: Whitney completely forgot to provide any identifying information about Ashley and somehow – shockingly – ended up giving her own life story instead! Tune in and hear how this Poorly executed double date ends!

Well there's one thing we know about Whitney when she sets her mind to something - she'll not only do it, but she'll make everyone pay, including her friends. When Whitney is asked by a fan to choreograph a wedding dance (a solo dance for all we know, which... yikes), she drops everything (BGDC, BGDC and BGDG) to do it. But when tensions rise and the bride gets cold feet, will Whit fold under pressure or keep the rhythm? Will her swollen feet keep her from performing or will she tap dance her way to the top with a beer in one hand and a phone in the other? Tune in now to find out!

While her parents prepare for their big wedding anniversary, Whit entertains the idea of a fling with an old friend. In fact, for reasons, we don’t really understand, Whit invites her old friend to the anniversary party to “reconnect“ with Babs and Glenn. But will trouble brew when Buddy appears? It all depends on whether you focus on who he brought to the anniversary party… in for all the drama, romance and love triangles - even if they are only happening inside Whitney’s head!

This week, Whit and her BFF Ashley "do" the beach! But don't worry, this isn't a "Debbie Does Dallas" situation. Whit claims that she hasn't been to the beach for between 19-20 years and since she was between 100-114 lbs (can never get a straight figure from her). Will Whit crumble under the pressure of having a bikini body? Or will she "rock her curves the best" and flick those haters off her toe? 

In this week’s episode we’re exploring the tenuous grip that Whitney has on reality. And of course, the best example of that loose grip is her “relationship“ with her “best friend,” Buddy. Though Whitney may want us to believe that she has crossed the “flesh hold“ with Buddy, and that all kinds of sexual tension remains, we are dubious. Tune in and let us know if you think Buddy is more than just a friend, or if romance already brewing between him and another girl!

In this episode, Whit embraces the "say yes" philosophy! And if you didn't know what that was, don't worry, she'll beat you over the head with it for the entirety of the episode! To Whit, "saying yes" means starring in a big girl fashion show called "I Rock My Curves the Best." Though the staging of the show isn't great (it's at a long since shut down cigar bar without an actual runway), Whit certainly makes an entrance in her 2014 statement jewelry, a maxi jersey dress and "heels." Tune in to hear how Babs shamelessly hits on a shoe salesman on Whit's behalf and how Glenn forgets to be excited about Whit's big reveal!

If we had to title this episode, it would likely be called “mail from the producers,” because we’re sure no one could possibly feel the vitriol towards Hwhit necessary to write some of these comments. Regardless of their source, this episode centers around Whit’s haters - whether they’re yelling at her from a ing car “call Sea World! Shamu got out!” or leaving her anonymous comments on social media, the haters are in the building. But we’ve got one question for you all: is the call coming from inside the house? 

Season 1, Episode 1 of My Big Fat Fabulous Life, titled "A Fat Girl Dancing" introduces viewers to Whitney Way Thore, a charismatic and body-positive woman who gained viral fame through her "Fat Girl Dancing" videos. This pilot episode helps us learn more about Whitney, a 30-year-old living in Greensboro, North Carolina, who we lovingly refer to as "Whit" or "Hwhit." Whit is determined to embrace her life and body despite struggling with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), which contributed to her significant weight gain. She moves back in with her ive but sometimes overbearing parents, Glenn and Babs, who worry about her health and future. After a decade (or more, depending on Whit's story) removed from the spotlight due to humiliation from weight struggles, Whitney returns to dance. This first episode sets the stage for her journey of self-love, fitness, and breaking stereotypes about body image.
